Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Ever since the rise of Communism in 1949, the doors to foreign missionaries have been closed. The persecution and affliction to believers in China were intensified. In spite of the pressure and against all odds, the Chinese believers continue to thrive. It is estimated that twenty to twenty-five thousand people are coming to Christ daily. The need for Bibles, literatures, and training are at an all time high in China. There is a loud cry from within China, "Send us more literature! Send us more laborers!"
The Lord impressed on my heart in 1985 that Taiwan would be the launching pad for me to go into China. Little did I know that it would take years for it to come to pass. The Lord had to bring me to a place where I KNOW that apart from Him I can do absolutely nothing. The door now has been opened for me to pioneer the China Gospel Light in Taichung. The vision of the China Gospel Light is two fold; first, to mobilize and equip the Taiwanese and Chinese believers to reach their own people for Christ through preaching, teaching, and discipling; second, to provide the quality literature that will further equip and build up the believers. Currently, there is a freedom of religion in Taiwan. However, no one knows for certain what the future holds as the tension between Taiwan and China builds. I believe the time to evangelize is NOW, and I sensed the urgency of it. I am convinced that the Taiwanese and Chinese believers in Taiwan are the future missionaries to China that will usher in one of the greatest harvests ever known. In the obedience to His calling, we have sold our house and liquidated our possessions in the States. We have made a cross-cultural move to Taiwan. Leaving a successful career as a Software Engineer in a major corporation to "live by faith" as a missionary does not make sense in the natural except that I have received a mandate to reach Taiwan and China for the glory of God. I am asking you to pray about being a part of this momentous task through prayers and giving. As we join our hands, together we can reach Taiwan and China for Christ! In His Service, Clifton Chen |
